Parungpanjang, 2 Mei 2023 -- Hari ini seluruh bangsa Indonesia, khususnya para guru, tendik dan peserta didik mengikuti Upacara memperingati hari Pendidikan Nasional, baik di tingkat sekolah/madrasah, tingkat kabupaten, provinsi, maupun tingkat nasional.
Demikian pula dengan civitas MAN 5 Bogor, Kepala Madrasah, Ema Rachmawati disamping turut mengucapkan selamat hardiknas 2023, Kepala madrasah juga memerintahkan semua civitas MANLIBO untuk melaksanakan upacara Hardiknas. Ada tiga kelompok guru dan staff yang melaksanakan upacara. Sebagian guru melaksanakan upacara di MAN 5 Bogor Kampus 2 Singa bangsa Tenjo, sebagian lagi upacara di lapangan MANLIBO bersama-sama dengan siswa siswi, dan sebagian lagi upacara di Lapangan SMPN 1 Parungpanjang yang merupakan lokasi upacara hardiknas tingkat kecamatan Parungpanjang.

Hardiknas adalah hari nasional yang ditetapkan pemerintah sebagai peringatan hari Pendidikan Nasional dan lahirnya Ki Hajar Dewantara. Tokoh pelopor lahirnya di pendidikan Indonesia dan pendiri lembaga pendidikan Taman Siswa.
Hari Pendidikan Nasional diperingati setiap tanggal 2 Mei, bertepan dengan lahirnya tokoh nasional Indonesia yang dijuluki sebagai bapak pendidikannasinal Indonesia, Ki Hajar Dewantara. Ia lahir dari keluarga kaya pada era kolonialisme Belanda.
Ki Hajar Dewantara mulai dikenal oleh masyarakat Indonesia karena keberaniannya menentang kebijakan pendidikan yang diterapkan oleh pemerintah Hindia-Belanda kala itu. Pada saat itu, hanya anak keturunan Belanda dan anak orang kaya yang dapat mengenyam bangku pendidikan.
Kemudian ia mengkritik kebijakan yang dianggap sangat tidak adil itu. Akibat keberaniannya mengkritik pemerintah Hindia Belanda, menyebabakan ia diasingkan ke Belanda. Setelah diasingkan, ia kembali ke Indonesia dan membuat strategi baru untuk kemajuan pendidikan di Indonesia.
Ki Hajar muda, kemudian mendirikan lembaga pendidikan yang bernama "National Onderwijs Institut Taman Siswa" yang berdiri pada 3 Juli 1922. Dari situ banyak anak-anak Indonesia baik dari keluarga mampu hingga keluarga tidak mampu dapat merasakan duduk di bangku sekolah. Lembaga itu bertahan hingga negera Indonesia medeka.
Setelah kemerdekaan, Ki Hajar diangkat sebagai menteri pendidikan Indonesia. Dan dikenal dengan filosofi tut wuri handayani (di belakang memberi dorongan) sebagai semboyan pendidikan Indonesia. Ki Hajar Dewantara wafat pada tanggal 26 April 1959.
Untuk menghormati jasa-jasanya terhadap dunia pendidikan nasional, pemerintah Indonesia menetapkan hari lahir Ki Hajar Dewantara sebagai peringatan hari Pendidikan Nasional. Hari Nasional tersebut diputuskan berdasarkan Keppres No. 316 Tahun 1959 tanggal 16 Desember 1959.
